In today's litigious climate, companies are insisting that all managers and supervisors recognize and resolve disputes before they become legal problems. In addition to understanding laws about sexual harassment, discrimination and wage and hour, among others, supervisors are also expected to identify, analyze, and make fair decisions about employee disputes. In fact, it is a given that at some point in her career, a supervisor will be asked to handle an employee complaint, to conduct a workplace investigation, and to assist in returning the workplace back to normal.
But making sure you comply with the legal requirements for investigations is only half the story. Puente’s training focuses also on the practical aspects of conducting an investigation that will lead to well-reasoned and fair conclusions. Our trainers place particular emphasis on the topics participants have identified as the most problematic for them, including tips for conducting interviews that elicit all the information you need, and appropriately and logically analyzing the evidence to reach a fair conclusion.
Led by Puente’s workplace investigation experts who have conducted hundreds of investigations spanning the entire gamut of HR issues, these training sessions will provide you with the tools necessary to recognize complaints that need to be investigated, to conduct fair and thorough investigations, and to get your company back on track after an investigation. The value with Puente, as always, is that we bridge the gap between managers and employees. Our goal is to teach you to normalize relations with your employees in a practical and fun manner. Topics covered include :
- Deciding when to investigate
