2001
In December, Patti Perez founds Puente International Consulting, Inc. to provide employment law and HR consulting to companies spanning all sizes and industries throughout the United States.
2002
Puente expands its staff, launches its first website, and moves its offices to include a long-term lease in La Mesa.
2003
- Annie Chavarria joins Puente as Vice President of its Spanish Language Business Solutions.
- Puente develops and begins marketing its Spanish proficiency test.
- Ms. Perez authors and markets a toolkit outlining the seven critical steps to conducting workplace investigations.
- In its second complete year in operation, Puente doubles its revenue from its first year in operation.
2004
Puente offers its first open enrollment seminar on workplace investigations and expands its open enrollment seminar topics and options.
2005
- The San Diego Business Journal spotlights Ms. Perez in its publication as a small business owner to watch and highlights the tremendous growth of Puente.
- Deanna M. Baker joins Puente as an attorney/consultant.
- In its fourth year in operation, Puente quadruples its revenue from its first year in operation.
2006
- Puente expands its Spanish Language Business Solutions division. The program includes high-level, native Spanish-speaking staff of trainers and HR consultants who honor clients’ cultural diversity and provide HR consulting and accurate Spanish language HR and employment law services.
- Puente’s founder, Ms. Perez, is honored as one of San Diego’s “40 Under 40” by San Diego Metropolitan Magazine.
- Ms. Perez is a featured speaker at the 2006 National Conference for Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).
- Minorities in Business (MIB) Magazine recognizes Ms. Perez with a Caeser Chavez Award at its annual Prism awards gala for her work in the community.

2007
- Puente moves its offices from La Mesa to downtown San Diego. The Puente offices occupy the 17th floor in the prominent NBC Tower on Broadway.
- Ms. Perez authors a chapter on workplace investigations for the distinguished California State Bar's Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) 2007 annual publication.
- Ms. Perez is elected as new Chair of Executive Committee of Labor and Employment Law Section of California State Bar.
- Ms. Perez is named Woman Business Owner of the Year by the National Association of Woman Business Owners (NAWBO) – San Diego chapter.
- Ms. Perez is a featured guest on KPBS “These Days” on the topic of sexual harassment in the workplace and California state law.
- Ms. Perez is a featured guest writer in San Diego Business Journal regarding small business and ways to prevent sexual harassment.
- Puente International Consulting, Inc. changes its name to Puente Consulting, Inc. and launches a new brand and website at www.puenteconsulting.com.
- Puente opens offices in Los Angeles.
- Mariel S. Mulet joins Puente as an attorney/consultant.
2008
- Ms. Perez is named one of bizSanDiego Magazine's Top "Women in Biz" for her leadership and commitment to making a difference in her industry.
- Puente opens offices in Orange County.
- Gov. Schwarzenegger appoints Ms. Perez to the California Fair Employment and Housing Commission, a quasi-judicial administrative agency which enforces California laws regarding discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations. Ms. Perez becomes Vice-Chair of the Commission.
2009
- California State Senate confirms Ms. Perez's appointment to the Fair Employment and Housing Commission.
- Ms. Perez becomes the chair of the California Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section.
2010
- Gabriela Salazar Burns joins Puente as an attorney/consultant.
